Bruce Bourbon
CEO & Chairman of the Board
Bruce is a veteran of the electronics industry with close to 40 years experience in semiconductors and electronic design automation (EDA). He founded Telos Venture Partners in 1996 to invest in development-stage IT companies.
Before founding Telos, Bruce served in a dual management role with Toshiba Corporation. He was president and CEO of Vertex Semiconductor Corporation (a subsidiary of Toshiba America Electronic Components or TAEC), the only Toshiba semiconductor R&D organization located outside of Japan. Under his guidance, Vertex developed EDA software, ASIC technology, and applications specific standard products (ASSPs). He was also vice president of system IC marketing at TAEC where he was responsible for Toshiba's ASIC business, standard logic families, microprocessors and the silicon foundry business in the U.S. While with Vertex, Bruce refocused the company on the high-end ASIC market and engineered the company 's acquisition by Toshiba.
His career includes several years as executive vice president of corporate marketing at Cadence Design Systems. He played a key role in growing Cadence from a small startup to a major force in the EDA business.
Prior to Cadence, Bruce was with American Microsystems (AMI) for 10 years, where he last served as vice president of marketing. At AMI, he was also vice president of the semi-custom products group, responsible for the AMI gate array and silicon foundry businesses. Prior to his stint at AMI, Bruce spent fourteen years working for a number of electronic systems companies in various engineering and management positions. Bruce served as Board chairman and president of the Open Verilog International (OVI) group for two years from its formation in October 1990. He holds a BSEE from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and an MSEE from the University of California at Los Angeles.

Jack Carsten
Director
Jack Carsten is a semiconductor industry veteran with 27 years of venture capital investment experience. Prior to forming Horizon Ventures, Jack managed Technology Investments, a private investment firm in Los Altos, California. The fund focused on the formation of seed stage information technology firms, building their management teams and organizing syndicates of professional investors.
Before founding Technology Investments, Jack was a General Partner at U.S. Venture Partners in Menlo Park, California - a $325M venture capital partnership managing a broad portfolio of medical, retail and information technology investments.
Prior to U.S.V.P., Jack was a Vice President of Intel Corporation from 1975 to 1988. Originally hired as Vice President of Sales and Marketing, he was named to head the Microprocessor Division and subsequently was named Senior Vice President for the Components Group. Prior to Intel, he was a Division Manager at Texas Instruments in their MOS and TTL Divisions.
Jack was a founder of the "Band of Angels" investment club and of the Valley Medical Center Foundation. He holds a B.A. degree in Physics from Duke University.
Christos Karampelas
Director
Christos is the Managing Director of Alpha Ventures, the private equity arm of Alpha Bank, a leading financial institution in Greece and the Balkans. He has more than 22 years experience in the financial services industry, out of which, last 15 in venture capital and private equity. Prior to that, he worked as investment banker with Ionian Finance and Alpha Finance, as well as auditor with KPMG Athens. He has served as Director on the Board of various companies in several industries. He holds a B.A. in economics from the University of Athens.
Robert Morse
Director
Bob left MIT with a B.S.E.E. and M.S.E.E (1964) and some very fond memories. Chief among those were working with Claude Elwood Shannon, his bachelor thesis advisor and Norbert Wiener/Ron Howard his master thesis advisors. Bob earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1967. He settled in New York for four years and then on to Washington, D.C. where they lived for 30+ years. He is currently retired close to his family in the Silicon Valley.
Bob parleyed his three degrees into forty years practicing Intellectual Property, Antitrust and Corporate law. He served as a Senior Trial Attorney to the United States Department of Justice early in his career, during an exciting time in our Nation’s history. Watergate and Civil Rights issues were a daily diet. He next took on a role as Litigation partner, specializing in antitrust, patent, computer, general business, trade association and advertising law with Peabody, Rivlin, Lambert & Meyers. In 1982, he moved on to serve as Chairman of the firm and head of litigation and intellectual property groups at Galland, Kharasch, Morse & Garfinkle, P.C. In 1996 Bob joined Ropes & Gray as a Partner and expanded his focus into technology transfer agreements; high tech and intellectual property due diligence for mergers, acquisitions and IPO’s. In mid-2000, Bob became President and CEO of Esrom Consulting where he advised high tech and intellectual property oriented start-up companies through second round financing; advised venture capital and investment banking firms about potential investments in such companies; and, represented high tech companies in resolving intellectual property disputes through negotiations, arbitration and litigation.
Bob has been a frequent presenter at lectures and seminars relating to antitrust, patent, intellectual property, and Internet matters. He has served as a substitute Physics and Calculus teacher in the Washington DC and San Francisco areas and as a nonresident Instructor at MIT. He is a member of the Band of Angels, a group of angel investors investing in startup companies. He served on the MIT National Alumni Board of Directors until 1988 and on the National Capital Area Council/ Boy Scouts of America, where he was Chairman of the Board from 2002-2003 and President the previous year. He loves tennis, hiking, writing and playing with his grandchildren as much as possible.
Demetris Paraskevopoulos
Director
Dr. Paraskevopoulos is the founder and managing director of Nif/T L.L.C., a new business catalyst consulting company. He has been managing Nif/T during the last fifteen years. He has over 35 years experience in high tech development and management, in start up company environments as well as large corporations. His experience ranges from new product development and introduction, to extensive operational management in marketing and sales. In addition, he has extensive accomplishments in business development and strategic negotiations. His previous roles included General Manager of Tower Semiconductor USA, Inc. and VP of Business Development at an Internet related startup firm. Earlier positions were VP of Marketing and Sales at National Semiconductor and he held several management positions in technology management and operations at Xerox Corp.
He received a Sc.M. in Electrical Engineering from Brown University, an M.A. and Ph.D. in Physics from Boston University, an MBA in Financial Economics and Marketing from University of Rochester, and completed post-doctoral studies at MIT. Dr. Paraskevopoulos has 4 patents issued and over 40 professional publications. He is currently an active member of various professional associations, including the Silicon Valley Band of Angels and the Association for Corporate Growth; he has served, or currently serving, on six Boards of Directors.
